Wedding planning has started to get stressful. I know I've got to enjoy this period, but I can’t help but feel a little frazzled when I think of the long list of things that need to get done. (Maybe it’s because my current wedding tasks involve an excel spreadsheet. Blah!) I know this is no way to lead up to one of the most important days of my life, so whenever I get frustrated I think about the wedding planning moments that have been the most exciting (so far). I can’t pick just one—which I think is a good thing—but I can share my top three.
1. Finding the Dress: Maybe this is a given. I’m sure this moment tops the list of most brides’ favorite wedding planning moments. Well count me in among the masses, because wedding dress shopping was so much fun. I fell in love with the first dress I tired on and ever since then I’ve been counting down the days till I can put it on again. I’m feeling so good about my dress that I’m sure getting ready will be one of my favorite parts of the wedding day.
2. Seeing our Save the Dates: We just got our final proof from the super and amazingly talented Aimee of Creative Montage. Her work is outstanding—but you already knew that. Well, she’s done it again. Once I saw my full name, next to Keith’s and our wedding date in big bold letters it all seemed a little bit more real.
3. Meeting the Florist: I’m so lucky to be working with another amazingly talented woman, Elisabeth from Blush Floral Design. She walked me through every element of the wedding, helping me select flowers and décor. She even inspired me to put a fresh new twist on the centerpieces. This meeting was one of my favorites because it was the moment I started to see the wedding come together. Elisabeth even had something beautiful for the front entrance, so now I know exactly what my reception will look like from the moment I peek my head through the door.
Future-brides, what’s been your favorite part of wedding planning, and what have you been dreading? Already married? Are you glad the planning process is over or is there one moment you wish you could live through again?
