Hello! My name is Brandi Thompson, and I'm honored to be guest blogging for Aimee while she's enjoying her vacation. I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and you can find my photography blog at http://www.rockstarphotographyblog.com/.
Detail shots are always some of my favorite things to take at weddings. Jessica and Daniel got married this spring, and had lots of great, colorful details at their super fun wedding.
For most of the week leading up to Jessica and Daniel's wedding, it had been raining. In fact, during the rehearsal, it had poured rain and the beautiful location for their outdoor wedding had become a field of mud. But, based on Jessica's smile, you would have never known. Mother nature must have been impressed, because the rain stayed away and Jessica and Daniel had their gorgeous outdoor ceremony!
Jessica chose a robin egg's blue and red theme for their wedding. Many also call this color by the name of a well known jewelry store that uses it for their distinctive packaging. Jessica, her sister (and maid of honor!) and her mother all had matching track suits with custom embroidery. You could definitely tell this is a close knit family! Jessica carried over her theme with her beautiful shoes and fun garter.
I loved Jessica and Daniel's rings. When I saw the pool table, I knew I had to grab a shot showing the date they got married - March 14, 2009!
I was absolutely in love with the red pomanders that Jessica and Daniel used as decoration down the aisle, and bouquets for the bridesmaids. All of the bridesmaids had different dresses in the same color, which is a great way to make sure all your girls are happy with their dresses.
The kiss is always my favorite part of the ceremony.
Jessica and Daniel are a stunning couple.
The reception tables had white and blue tablecloths with flower and candle centerpieces. Each guest was given a bookmark to fill with a strip of photos from the photobooth at the reception. When using such bright colors, simple centerpieces can really make an impact.
Even the buffet was set up using the wedding colors. Jessica didn't miss a single detail. Both the brides cake AND the grooms cake weren't cake - they were cupcakes! On top of the bride's cupcake tower was a top layer for Jessica and Daniel to eat on their one year anniversary. After a fabulous, fun reception, Jessica and Daniel walked through a row of sparklers to their waiting getaway car!
I'll be back next week with another fabulous wedding!
