An April Giveaway!

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING.

So way back when I really started focusing on running this business full time, I happened to catch an episode of Martha Stewart which was all about becoming an entrepreneur. One of her guests was the owner of Glassybaby, Lee. The story of how Glassybaby came to be, struck a cord with me and suddenly I was in my living room crying at how beautiful Lee's story was. This is a video of the actual episode. I would take a few minutes to watch it. Its moving.

I always tucked that information away and kept the Glassybaby website in my brain but I wasn't sure what I could do with that information. I've used one or two photos of their beautiful products in some inspiration boards but that was it. That is, until now!

We have teamed up with the good folks at Glassybaby to offer you a very special giveaway! But first, an interview with Nicola, the sales account manager at Glassybaby:

How long has Glassybaby been in business?
Glassybaby has been around for 10 years.

How did you get started?
Lee gave her husband a glassblowing class and absolutely fell in love with the simple vessels he brought home. She began calling them 'glassybaby' and gave them as baby gifts to friends with new borns. With a warm and enthusiastic response from friends...she began selling them out of her garage.

What is the best part about Glassybaby?
The best part of glassybaby...is the ability to operate a 'for profit' company that makes a beautiful, simple, hand blown product and give a % of sales to cancer related causes. Lee is a cancer survivor.

If you could trade places with anyone, who would it be?
I can't answer this one for Lee...however my guess is...she would not trade places with anyone.

What do you wish you could do differently with your business?
Sell internationally.

Where do you see your business in 5 years? 10 years?
In 5 years, more stores and more web orders. In 10 years, more stores and more web orders and it is always our aim to raise a heftier dollar amount for cancer research.

What would you want customers to know about your services?
Customers should know that we are a company with a commitment to giving to cancer causes and lighting a glassybaby will change your life.

And now, on to the contest!

One lucky winner will receive ONE gift set that includes 3 glassybabies! These beautiful pieces of art are perfect for your home or your wedding day!

All you have to do is select which gift set you would choose from the Glassybaby site and tell us why in the comments section of this post (make sure that you leave your email address too)! The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Tuesday, April 7th.

This contest closes on Monday at midnight (cst). Available to US residents only please.

Wow - these are lovely. I guess I like the "with a twist" set the best. They are all bright and cheery and make me think of summer.

i love the thankful set! those colors, the colors of earth really do make me thankful for what i take for granted in the world around me. it's good to have that reminder... and in hand-blown glass... who doesn't love that tangible connection to an artisan?!

Always Love. Beautiful.
I just spent 3 nights on the cancer ward of UCSF Med Center with my aunt who's battling AML. I got home this afternoon. I'm still processing everything that I saw and all the people that I met. I think it's fantastic that a portion of the proceeds benefit cancer causes. <3

I love them all! It's so hard to choose just one! ... Decisions, decisions. If I had to choose just one, it would have to be "With A Twist". I'm from the Seattle area, where Glassybaby is made, and this set feels like springtime and summertime to me. We so need that sort of pick me up around these parts.

P.S. I LOVE GLASSYBABY!!!

I would go with downtown browns! The pinks are too girly for my boyfriend, but the browns are perfectly neutral!

The Best Friends set, because it reminds me of my best friend. We used to have a twenty dollar bill that we would borrow and loan back and forth throughout college. She (and it) was always there when I needed it. Thanks for the opportunity.

The colors of the Marsha's Hope set are beautiful. It represents a wonderful cause and is a great way to spread the word about a great cause. Ovarian cancer is a terrible disease and women and men need to know more about it.

Oh how can you chose just one! I LOVE the orange you glad - everyone needs something orange in their home to bring life into it. I'd roll out my orange yoga mat and light up those gorgeous candles and let the room glow in recreated sunlight. The orange you glad is 4, not 3, so my 2nd choice would probably be best friends. how can you go wrong w/ that? something light, something bright and sexy and something sweet. let the room glow! i hope i win! =) thanks! sandra.youssef@gmail.com

Orange you glad(I diid'nt say banana) thats the best set because you get four glassybabys not three. When given a chance you cant resist having the most glassybabys in your home and the colors will set off my soon to arrive tulips.
