Save the Date Etiquette

Almost on a daily basis, I am asked by potential customers about save the dates. The biggest question is inevitably: Do my save the dates have to match my invitations? To which I always answer: Absolutely not!

Because save the dates are a trend that has only been around for a few years, there really isn’t a lot of etiquette to follow. So you can really do whatever you want with them. Your save the dates can have a more fun and casual approach while your invitations can have a more formal look and feel. That’s 100% ok to do. Its really up to the individual! For my own personal taste, I like to coordinate. Its just who I am….much to my husbands chagrin. But it by no means, suggests that you have to have an entire coordinating suite of products that begins with your save the dates.

Just keep in mind that save the dates should be mailed out 6-8 months prior to the big day. In most cases, unless your wedding is a destination wedding or over a holiday, 6 months is more than sufficient. For a complete pricing guide for our custom save the dates, check out our save the date page!
